In my almost three years here, I’ve seen a lot—lots of friendly faces and not so. I’ve seen them come and go. Some quit the job after six months. Some quit the job and travel. Some quit due to health reasons and some others because they feel burnout.

I’ve seen some people get hurt. It’s haunting especially when the exit is not so ‘graceful.’ That’s how it is eh. Life goes on.

Reasons why I love my job

1) I like the challenge

Yes, my work had become more challenging by the day. However, this is not enough reason for me to leave. Nope.

In the past month, I’m doing applicant interviews. We have an open position for a Content Writer since one of our writers will leave soon. She quitted the job because she has to, and I understand her reasons. We all look and head to the greener pastures especially when we have someone relying on us.

2) My job is the ‘greener pasture’ (at least for me)

But for me, the “greener pastures” is here. This place is my retreat when everything else gets chaotic at home. AND. VICE. VERSA. I have no reasons to leave.

3) I have friends at work

The company has a young workforce; mainly millennials. I’ve befriended people of my same age of course—the Thunderkats. Go figure. Hehe. Hint: We’re all momshies in the group.

4) I am happy

Don’t get me wrong. I’ll quit anytime if I am unhappy. But I am happy where I am right now. I can’t force others to feel and do the same. #respetolang

I think that’s the gist of the experience—we need to respect these people’s decision. We cannot keep the people who want to quit. Staying is a choice.

And I am choosing to stay.

What about you? If ever you’ll leave your current job, what will be the reason?

i’d love to leave my job but circumstances won’t allow ! I’d love to travel, live a minimalistic lifestyle and not have to think about earning money just to survive x

      Hi Gary,

      Thanks for dropping by!

I understand your predicament. We all need to survive; we really have to work, work work.

Travel once in a while if you must for a breather, so you won’t feel locked up.

      Cheers,

Hahaha. Pero tama lang yun. Kapag hindi na happy, leave. Go somewhere else. 😀
Good to know po na hindi kayo nagsisisi…

Kapag kaya pang tiisin, titiisin. Pero isang rason po kung bakit hindi ko kayang tiisin is not the job mismo kundi the boss. Hahaha. Andami kong articles na nagsasabi na dahilan ng resignation ng mga employees ay boss.

True! Ang dami kong kakilala na nagreresign sa work nila kahit magaganda position and matataas ang sweldo, at ang immediate supervisor/manager or mismong head ang dahilan.
Pero siyempre hindi nila nilalagay sa resignation letter. Haha.
And kaya rin ako nagstay sa work ko now is dahil sa boss ko. Marami akong natututunan sa kanya.
